Research Output Formats for NCS Blue Scanner Sheets

The NCS scanner transfers data from scan sheets to the hard drive of a workstation attached to the scanner. The data is stored in a SDF (Scanned Data Format) file. The SDF file is then processed using a data conversion program which produces a printed summary report and an NCS Output file. All response fields, except the name area, are converted into numeric output. The format of the NCS Output file is shown in the printed summary report. Remember: this information is ONLY for the NCS Blue Scan sheets. Use only the format for the form you turned in; using the wrong format will produce errors.
