Hardware Support

Hardware Support

The primary purpose of the Computer Hardware Support group is to provide equipment maintenance support to the end users of university owned computing equipment. Such equipment includes microcomputers and printers.

Computer Hardware Support List

Request for Services

All requests for service are to be initiated by contacting the EIT Service Request Line at x. 3644 or via e-mail at eitservice@utoledo.edu A work order will be created and the status of the problem will be tracked through resolution.

 

Printers

Computer Hardware Support will analyze and diagnose all supported University owned printers. Users will be charged only for the actual cost of replacement parts.

Microcomputers

Computer Hardware Support will analyze and diagnose all failures of supported brands of University owned microcomputers. Hardware replacement, of non-mechanical components, when necessary, will be covered for three (3) years or the period of manufacturers warranty, whichever is longer. Mechanical components, such as disk drives, will not be covered beyond the period of manufacturers warranty.

 

Please Note: Surplus Property

Computer equipment, sent to Surplus Property, will not be sold to any college or department for University use. This is due to support issues, regarding software, hardware and Networking. There will be no exceptions.
